Season Finale: Rhapsody in Blue and 1812 Overture

Join DUPO for their season finale as they perform an explosive program including Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue and Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture.

The concert sees the 2 DUPO orchestras join forces, with the Palatinate Ensemble in first half, conducted by Timothy Tsang, performing Balakirev’s Islamay and Grieg’s Holberg Suite.

In the 2nd half, Anthony Sutch conducts the Symphony Orchestra in what promises to be a grandiose ending to the season, opening with Gershwin’s exuberant and energetic Rhapsody in Blue, with Benjamin Houchin starring as soloist. A more calming and lyric interlude follows with Khachaturian’s beautiful ‘Adagio of Spartacus and Phrygia’ before the concert’s explosive finale of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture to conclude DUPO’s 2025/26 season.
