The Palatinate Ensemble

Newly formed in 2024, the Palatinate Ensemble is an elite group comprised of some of the best musicians in Durham University that play smaller scale but highly complex works in a small chamber orchestra and in individually formed small ensembles including 2 string quartets and a wind quintet and String Octet

Previous performances this past year have seen the Palatinate Ensemble perform Brahm’s Serenade, Schubert’s Death and the Maiden quartet, and an arrangement of Shostakovich’s String Quartet No. 3 for the Ensemble.
