Getting To Bologna
Things To Bear In Mind
You should aim to book your flights as early as possible (prices will rise, sometimes a lot!)
Direct flights are listed below, but it may be easier for you to book your own flights that include stopovers
There are 2 ways to reach Porto, either via:
a direct flight to Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport (BLQ) - all options below include this
a direct flight to Florence Airport Peretola (FLR), followed by train (1hr)
It is best to book directly with the airline; this avoids having to pay extra for baggage!
Transporting Instruments
Larger instruments (such as cellos, double basses, percussion) are transported via our van, which is driven down to Porto.
Smaller instruments (everything else) can either be transported via our van (subject to space), or can be transported via plane. Please note that adding instruments to your flight is normally a denomination of "special baggage" and is not usually included under any form of regular baggage by any airlines.
Please ensure you inform DUPO how you wish to transport your instruments in plenty of time, and ensure you have insurance cover.
